You can wade/swim in its crystal-clear, shockingly cold waters, or try your hand at rafting, kayaking, or riding a horse along its banks. The ‘green’ in landscape is most refreshing contrast to ‘golden’ coastal areas.

While the tavernas in Vrachos are fine, for the ‘real-deal’ on authentic eating get into your car & explore the tiny, traditional villages in the hills just behind the coast. After a very short drive up into the mountains, you will start visiting villages that host tavernas offering homemade Greek food along with breathtaking panoramic views over the Ionian Sea. A perfect way to get completely away from other ‘tourists’ and have a meal in really special surrounds.
