The Vrachos Beach Hotel is probably heaven for beach lovers since practically the whole 3 kilometers of golden sand are accessible via foot. From the swimming pool of the hotel, one walks directly onto the beach, with free sunbeds and umbrellas provided by the hotel in its private section. The beach itself is fantastic; its beautiful fine sand must stretch only to the edge of those shallow, so clear waters that one would believe great for swimming and children’s families country. One can walk along the edge for more than an hour, taking in beautiful scenes and total silence.

Vrachos-Loutsa is a very long, linear settlement that penetrates the beach’s back. Along the main road stand many fine traditional Greek tavernas, modern cafes, and relaxed beach bars, and all of these are very accessible by foot. At night, you can just walk along the street and choose which place that evening will host delightful treats of fresh seafood or classic Greek dishes. It is a place that is really laid back and geared towards the beach.

For all your real, ’practical’ needs, various mini-markets abound along the main thoroughfare, a five- to fifteen-minute walk from the hotel. Water, snacks, sun cream, and fresh fruit are some of the basics available here. It’s not like there’s a great “town” or “shopping center” to walk to and explore; rather, everything is geared toward being all one might need for a completely independent and relaxed beach holiday. It’s very much about walking around enjoying the sunshine, the sea, and good food.
